The proposal is to take Gilbridge House which is currently an HMRC Tax Office that is about to be vacated and convert the building to offices, workshops and studios for Cultural and Creative Businesses. GilBridge becomes the place where talented and creative businesses cluster creating a day time vibrancy and replacing the loss of the HMRC staff in the local economy
This will provide a focus for creative talent in the city providing good quality accommodation and shared facilities for creative and cultural SMEs.
The ground floor could be converted into restaurants and retail units including a ‘Glass Shop’ or a perfect location for an Information Desk for tourists to the Quarter.
Gilbridge will open on to the new City Square and will be an important building within the city.
